Smoky Mountain Elopement In 90 Minutes Tips
Timeline
With 90 minutes, you can absolutely capture a full elopement experience. But being intentional about what matters most is key to having your dream day unfold seamlessly. So, my advice? Decide in advance what’s most important to you. Is the focus on the ceremony itself? Gorgeous couple portraits? A first look? A family moment? Once you decide what’s most important to you, plan your timeline around it.
Here is what your elopement timeline may look like when eloping to Gatlinburg:
- 10–15 min arrival + final prep
- 15–20 min ceremony
- 45–60 min portraits (couple, details, family if desired)
- Pro tip: Build in a small buffer, even 5 extra minutes can help keep things relaxed.

Location
I recommend choosing a beautiful spot that doesn’t require a long hike or complex logistics. A few of my favorites for a 90 minute elopement in the Smoky Mountains are the Foothills, Cades Cove, and Ely’s Mill. They are all unique to the Smokies with different views and features. If you want to learn more about my favorite places to elope in Gatlinburg TN, I wrote an entire blog on just that!

Guests
For an atmosphere that feels like a true elopement, opt to limit your guests. If you want to include family or friends, keep it to a small group (under 10 is ideal). Larger groups take more time to manage during the ceremony and portraits. Plus, a small party gives you a more intimate and personal experience.

No matter how long your elopement is, be sure to embrace the simplicity and beauty of the moment! A Smoky Mountain elopement in 90 minutes lets you focus on what truly matters and embrace every moment! Ready to book your Gatlinburg elopement? Reach out here!
